סשה גנלין נולד במוסקבה ב-1957. למד בבית הספר הראשון לאומנות במוסקבה ( סיים ב-1974 ), ובאקדמיה לקולנוע ( 1980 ). עלה ארצה ב-1991. סיים אקדמיה לאומנות ועיצוב – בצלאל.
עכשיו מתגורר בבת-ים.

Sasha, born in Moscow in 1957, graduated from the First Moscow Art School in 1974 and the Cinema Art Academy (VGIK) in Moscow in 1980. He moved to Israel in 1991 and graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. He now lives in Bat Yam.
